It’s been a little over two months since I launched Anderson. In that time, orders have shipped to New Zealand, Australia, the US, and Europe, which is more than I expected for the first two months. The black chore coat has become the piece most people reach for, and the blue relaxed t-shirt has sold out, with a restock on the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported Anderson in any form.
This note covers what’s happening behind the scenes.
Denim, slowly
The first denim samples came back last month, and I’ve been wearing the type 1 jacket sample routinely since. The fabric and fit are both very good, however some details are not quite right against the tech pack, so there will be another round of sampling before production. I’m looking forward to sharing more on these soon.
Maeve & Anderson
Ewan from Maeve Coffee Roasters and I started talking about making something together. That conversation turned into a ceramics collaboration: pieces made for use in Maeve’s cafés, with a small number available to take home. I’m looking at two styles, mugs from a Danish coffee company and tumblers made in Japan. The design is close to finished, and I’ll post the process on Instagram as it comes together.
A weekend at Maeve
On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, Anderson will be at Maeve for the weekend. The exact location is still being decided. The full range will be there to try on, along with a small rack of one-off samples that won’t go into production, the first run of the ceramics, and coffee for the first people through the door each day. More details closer to the date. Anderson’s Black Friday sale will also be available in store over the weekend.
Further afield
In January I’ll be in China to visit factories and work on what comes after denim, so next year will be a big step for the brand.
